Seek Knowledge!!

"Seek knowledge, because seeking it for the sake of Allah is a worship. And knowing it makes you more God-fearing; and searching for it is jihad, teaching it to those who do not know is charity, reviewing and learning it more is like tasbeeh. Through knowledge Allah will be known and worshipped. With the knowledge Allah will elevate people and make them leaders and imams, who will in turn guide other people".
[Fatawa Ibn Taymiyya vol.10, p.39]

Returning to The Qur'aan and Sunnah When There is Disagreement

BismillaahirRahmaanirRaheem

From Sh Fawzaan's explanation of Sharh-us-Sunnah:

His saying, “And disputation about it is disbelief.”[1] Disputing about the Qur·aan, whether it is something created or whether it is something not created or a person having doubts and saying, “I don’t know, there is disagreement about this matter,” as people say now.  So a manifestation has now appeared where they say, “The matter is khilaafiyyah/there is disagreement about this matter”.  So we say: When there is disagreement, then what is to be followed is the daleel (the proof).  We were not given the duty in the Religion of having to follow the disagreements of the people and sayings of the people.  We have being given the duty in the Religion of following the proof.  So when there is disagreement we test the disagreement against the proof.  And whatever that is found to be supported by the proof, then it is the Truth.  And whatever is contrary to the proof, then it is false.  And Allaah did not abandon us to opinions and sayings and disagreements.  Rather He said:

فَإِن تَنَازَعْتُمْ فِي شَيْءٍ فَرُدُّوهُ إِلَى اللّهِ وَالرَّسُولِ

(Explanation)

So if you disagree in anything, then refer it back to Allaah and to the Messenger.

(Sooratun-Nisaa· (4), aayah 59)

(Explanation)

And whatever you disagree about, then its judgement is to be referred back to Allaah.  That is Allaah my Lord.  Upon Him I place my reliance and to Him I turn constantly.

(Sooratush-Shooraa (42), aayah 10)

So it is obligatory to refer back to the Book of Allaah and to the Sunnah of His Messenger sallAllaahu `alayhi wa sallam.  And whatever is supported by proof is to be taken, and whatever is contrary to the proof is to be left.  And as for the person who takes a saying which conforms to his desires or his whims, even if it goes against the proof, then he is one who is astray; and this one is worshipping his own desires.  As for the person who is worshipping Allaah, then he takes that which is supported by the proof from the Book of Allaah and the Sunnah of His Messenger sallAllaahu `alayhi wa sallam

He lost The Woman and He Lost His Religion

Ibn al-Qayyim (Rahimahullah) narrated:

It is reported that in Egypt, there was a man who would maintain the mosques, making the call to prayer, etc. He was, by all outward means, an obedient person and devout worshipper.
One day, as he usually would, he ascended the minaret to make the call to prayer. At the base of the minaret, there was a Christian woman standing. He saw her, and was seduced by her looks. So, he descended the minaret, went to her, and entered her home. She said to him: “Who are you, and what do you want?”
He replied: “I want you.”
She said: “Why?”
He said: “You have enslaved my eyes, and you have captured my heart.”
She said: “I will never answer your desire in a doubtful or suspicious manner.”
He said: “Ok, so, I will marry you, then.”
She said: “You are a Muslim, and I am a Christian. My father will never allow me to marry you.”
He said: “So, I will become a Christian.”
She said: “If you wish to do so, go ahead.“
So, the man became a Christian in order to marry this woman, and lived with the woman’s family in her house. Later on that day, however, he was on the roof of the house. He fell from the roof and died without even having enjoyed his new bride. So, he lost the woman, and he lost his religion.”

Not Saying How? And Why? Regarding The Attributes of Allaah

And no one says regarding the Attributes of the Lord, the Most High, “How?” and “Why?” except for one who doubts about Allaah, the Exalted and Most High.

Shaykh Saalih as Suhaymee (hafizahullaah) said regarding this point, “No one will say, ‘Why (is that)?’ with regard to Allaah’s Attributes except one who doubts about the Attributes of Allaah, the Most High.
A person who is always afflicted with ‘Why (is this)?’ and ‘How (is that)?’ and this saying comes out upon the slips of his tongue, this person is in danger. Indeed he is at the limit of danger. And for this reason the Companions, when revelation came down to them, they believed in it with certainty and they attested to it.
And they did not ask ‘Why is  this?’ and ‘How (is that)?’ Rather they submitted to everything which Allaah informed of open heartedly and accepting it fully. So therefore they did not ask ‘Why?’ and ‘How?’”

A Short and Sweet Description of The Manhaj As-Salaf By Shaykh Sulaymaan Ar Ruhaylee

He says: “I want a clarification and detailed description of the Salafee Manhaj and the sects that are now present between us, because each of them claims to be on the truth.” This requires 10 days [to give an answer]. And I only have 10 minutes, and some of it has already passed. Anyway:
Manhaj as-Salaf: is a clear Manhaj. It is never confused with another (Manhaj).
Manhaj as-Salaf: is a Manhaj based upon:
1. al-Ikhlaas lil-Laah (sincere intention for Allaah)
2. al-Mutaaba’ah li-rasoolil-Laah (following of the Messenger of Allaah) sallal-Laahu ‘alayhi wa sallam
Manhaj as-Salaf: its foundation is the Statement of Allaah, the Mighty and Majestic: {But no, by your Lord, they can have no Faith, until they make you (O Muhammad) judge in all disputes between them, and find in themselves no resistance against your decisions, and accept (them) with full submission.} [Soorah an-Nisaa (4):65]
Manhaj as-Salaf: is based upon the statement of the Prophet – sallal-Laahu ‘alayhi wa sallam:  “Whoever lives long from amongst you will see a great amount of differing. So stick to my Sunnah and the Sunnah of the Rightly-Guided Caliphs.
Hold onto it, and bite onto it with your molar teeth. And beware of newly invented matters, for verily every newly invented matter is an innovation, and every innovation is misguidance and every misguidance is in the Fire.”  Manhaj as-Salaf: is based upon that which Allaah – the Mighty and Majestic – rectified the first generation of this Ummah with. And that is what the Prophet – sallal-Laahu ‘alayhi wa sallam – and his Companions were upon. Manhaj as-Salaf: is based upon dissociating from al-Bid’ah (innovation) and al-Ahwaa (desires) and dissociating from its people. Manhaj as-Salaf: is based upon openly aiding the Sunnah of the Messenger – sallal-Laahu ‘alayhi wa sallam and striving to refute al-Bid’ah, expose its people, clarify their conditions and warn the people from everything that comes from them.
Manhaj as-Salaf: a Manhaj that is never mixed with other than it.
A Manhaj of the Book and the Sunnah. A Manhaj of knowledge and insight.
A Manhaj of al-Ittibaa’ (following) and guidance.
Manhaj as-Salaf as-Saalih: a Manhaj that can be seen by everyone whos vision has been enlightened by Allaah.
The sects that oppose the Manhaj of as-Salaf as-Saalih: they oppose the Manhaj of as-Salaf as-Saalih in everything we mentioned.
From the attributes of a Salafee:that he looks at the people from the Sharee’ah (Islamic Legislation), and he doesn’t look at the Sharee’ah from the people.
He gives the Sharee’ah precedence over the desires of the people, even if many oppose him and even if only a few attend him.
He gives the Sunnah of the Messenger of Allaah sallal-Laahu ‘alayhi wa sallam and the Book of our Lord  Glorified and Exalted be He precedence over the multitude (of people).
As for the Hizbiyyoon and their (diffirent) categories: they look at the Sharee’ah from the eyes of the people. So they don’t present anything to the people, except that which the people love and that which increases their multitude. If they see the people loving the right side, they go along in the right side and exaggerate. And if they see the people loving the left side, they go along in the left side and exaggerate. And if they see the people loving delay, they delay. And if they see the people loving withdrawal, they withdraw.
They don’t look in this to the Book or the Sunnah, rather they only look to what the people like and to that which increases their (own) multitude.

Anyway, this issue is available and written (about), and it requires a lot of time. And perhaps I will leave it at that which I mentioned, because a lot can be said about this.
